Why Get a Vineyard Consultant?

Planting wine grapes is a way of life, and every way of life deserves the right guide.

More Than Farming. It's Heritage.

Planting wine grapes isn't just a job. It's a way of life out here on the ranch. It's about rolling up your sleeves, working the soil, and building something that lasts. A vineyard adds beauty to your land, value to your property, and opens the door to creating your own bold, one-of-a-kind wines.

Whether you're looking to share a bottle with friends or turn your harvest into a business, tending vines connects you to the earth, teaches patience, and brings folks together.

The Cost of Getting It Wrong

A vineyard is a long-term investment that can take years to mature. Without the right guidance, growers can face:

  • Wrong variety selection: planting the wrong grape for your climate, soil, or goals can mean years of poor harvests.
  • Poor irrigation design: over- or under-watering weakens vines and invites disease.
  • Trellis and row orientation mistakes: bad structure creates canopy problems that follow your vineyard for its entire life.
  • Soil nutrient imbalances: without proper soil analysis, you may be feeding your vines the wrong thing.
  • Pest and disease pressure: unmanaged issues can wipe out a season's crop or permanently damage your vines.
  • Harvest timing errors: picking too early or too late can cost you flavor, sugar, and everything you worked all year for.
"Your satisfaction comes from enjoying your own quality-made wine, crafted from the premium grapes we help you grow. Because your satisfaction is the true measure of our success." — Matthew Noreen

My Heart Behind King's Ranch

At King's Ranch, my passion runs deeper than the soil we work. I believe in real connections with the folks who trust us to bring their vineyard dreams to life. Nothing beats sitting down with a grower, hearing their vision, and rolling up my sleeves to make it happen.

Seeing a vineyard thrive, knowing we had a hand in its success—that's what fuels me. This isn't just business; it's a calling. It's about building trust, delivering quality, and treating every client like family.

My Journey

With over a decade in viticulture and vineyard consulting, I've walked the rows, studied the soil, and learned what it takes to grow grapes that make exceptional wine. My hands-on experience covers everything from soil analysis and irrigation to pest control and sustainable practices.

My roots in agriculture run deep—from tending cows, goats, pigs, and gardens to cultivating premium vineyards and vibrant plumeria. I trained under some of the best:

  • Viticulture and Soil Science at Mt. San Jacinto College, guided by UC Davis standards and Greg Pennyroyal of Wilson Creek
  • Enology at MiraCosta College under Jim Hart, a respected winemaker behind Volcan, Hart, and Milagro wineries

My Promise

At King's Ranch, we live by one simple truth: Quality Over Quantity. Every vine matters. Every detail counts. Guided by my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I bring hands-on expertise and unwavering care to help you grow exceptional grapes and craft wines that tell your story.
